Natal Day Smoothie
 

On Natal Day 2016, Halifax & Dartmouth celebrated their 121st birthday. On that same day, much to Antoine's pleasure, Cavita created the Natal Day Smoothie, as we rush down to the waterfront to see the parade with our grab and go breakfast! A rich and fresh blend combining romaine lettuce, banana, pineapple and almond milk. Perfect for a breakfast to bring you all the energy you need for an active morning.

 

Let's Get Blending!

This recipe is for two medium servings.

 

INGREDIENTS
 
  • 2 cups of almond milk

  • 2 frozen banana

  • 1 head of romaine lettuce

  • 1 tbsp of peanut butter

  • 1 cup of frozen pineapple

  • Hemp hearts for topping

  • Chia seeds for topping

DIRECTIONS

 

  1. We like to freeze ahead our bananas and pineapples, this gives a nice thick texture without having to add ice. Try not keep your bananas too long in the freezer as they tend to spoil even in the freezer. If you didn't freeze the fruits, you will have to add ice to get the smoothie texture.

  2. On your smoothie day, put all the ingredients inside your blending device. Liquid at the bottom, softies in the middle and hard on top.

  3. Run the smoothie preset (if you have any) or blend at full power for 40 seconds.

  4. Pour into a glass, add the toppings and enjoy this fresh start to your day.
