Kale Chips

Ummm Kale chips, perfect for a quick snack either on those hard to decide days or as healthy bites while watching a movie. You can even use these as a starter to your meal, perhaps served when guests arrive, with a cocktail to kick off your event. What a great way to stack up on your greens and have guilt-free chips.

Choose the amount of kale depending on the number of eaters.

INGREDIENTS

  • Organic Kale

  • Garlic Powder

  • Olive oil

  • Salt and Black Pepper

  • Red chili flakes

DIRECTIONS

  • Tear leaves into large pieces and remove the stems.

  • Wash and dry the leaves. You can use a salad spinner or just lay them out on a paper tower to dry off. Make sure your leaves are dry. If water remains, it will result in the kale steaming and you won't achieve that crisp you are looking for.

  • In a large bowl, toss your kale pieces with olive oil, garlic powder, salt and black pepper. I like to give it a good rub making sure all the pieces are coated.

  • Lay out the coated kale in a large baking sheet and sprinkle the red chili flakes on top. Be careful not to over stack your kale else it will steam and not crisp up.

  • Heat the oven to 300°F and bake for 10 minutes. Rotate the pan, and bake for another 10 minutes or until crisp. The baking time may vary based on your oven, be sure to watch the kale if it's your first try to get a feel of your oven and ensure the kale doesn't burn.

  • Serve as is and enjoy as a starter to a meal, a snack or some bites while watching a movie.
