Papaya or pawpaw (in Trinidad & Tobago) is a fruit native to the tropics. You may have eaten it raw and green already inside a Thai salad. Usually, the ripe fruit is diced and incorporated in fruits salad. Here, we are blending it with some other delicacies straight from tropical countries like banana, cinnamon & nutmeg.

Running low on energy, this smoothie is perfect to fill your tank between the papaya, that provides also a significant amount of vitamin C, and the banana. The nutmeg and the cinnamon, aside from spicing up your Festive Tropical Smoothie, are full of bioactive compounds that enhance your health. Above all, this sweet spicy creamy smoothie is a wonderful treat for yourself straight from the Caribbean.

This recipe is for 2 servings.

 

INGREDIENTS
 
  • 1/2 of a Ripe Papaya

  • 1 Banana

  • 1 cup of Almond Milk

  • 1 cup of Water

  • 3-4 Dates

  • Cinnamon

  • Nutmeg

​​DIRECTIONS

 

  1. Peel and chop the papaya and Banana to freeze ahead of time.

  2. Add all the ingredients to your blending device. Liquid, soft, hard in this order from bottom to top.

  3. Run the smoothie preset (if you have any) or blend at full power for 40 seconds. If you want a smoother consistency, add 10 to 20 seconds of blending time.

  4. Pour into a glass and top with some hemp hearts for extra protein and some crunch.
