Start by toasting four slices of your organic bread. To toast the bread either use a toaster or your oven or a fry pan with a hint of butter. Make sure that your toasts are crunchy before stopping the toasting.

Avocado Tosty

For the avocado topping, cut an avocado in halft, keep one half that you will peel and slice. Lay the avocado slices on top of the two bread toasts. Sprinkle salt, black pepper, olive oil, lime juice, chili flakes and chopped cilantro. Ready!

Tomato Salsa Tosty

For the tomato salsa topping, take one grape tomato that you will slice in half. Remove the inside of the tomato with a spoon (so that the toasts do not get soggy) then slice the tomato in thin strips. Slice 1/4 of a white onion in very thin strips (you don't want to bite into a thick raw onion slice therefore make it as thin as you can). Mix together will salt, black pepper, olive oil, lime juice. Assemble on your toast and sprinkle cilantro and hemp hearts for extra protein.

Our AvoMasto Toasty recipe falls in this category by combining a rich organic bread with organic avocados and tomatoes. On one side, you will experience the buttery feeling of avocado slices laid on a toasted bread with just a pinch of seasoning. On the other hand, a fresh and acidic tomato salsa will be topping your toasts to bring you the lightness and coolness you are craving for a warm summers day snack or breakfast. 

 

For our recipe, we used the "Steady Eddie" sliced bread from Silver Hills Sprouted Bakery. This Canadian sliced bread is sweetened with apples and uses a combination wheat, rye and soy flour for a fibers & proteins rich bread. Wherever you live, look for similar types of bread produced locally!
